Tim Ridley was born in 1963 in North London and then lived in various places in southern England before being a freelance photographer for 17 years in London. In 2007 he did a foundation course in Fine Art at the City Lit. And he is now starting his third year at Chelsea doing a BA in Fine Art, which involved a three month erasmus exchange in Berlin at UDK.

In 2011 Tim graduated from Chelsea college of Art and Design. He won the Ovalhouse prize for his degree show performance 'Cartrouble Oh Yeah'. Which resulted in the performance '007 v John Ridley' which took place in the Theatre's foyer in October 2011.
