Me me me
I am a contemporary fine artist, whose practice centres on the relationship between humans and the natural world.
I use oil paint, graphite and found images to question the uneven power relationship between humans and the biosphere. My work is often small in scale, partly because I have a small studio, but also to minimise my impact on the environment.
Anything I make is undertaken with the utmost respect towards the environment, I have been a vegan for 30 years. I am not looking for answers, so much as opening up a space in which future solutions to species extinction, and habitat loss can be found.
In 2024 my painting ‘Bearsofa’ sold at the 171 RWA annual exhibition. I achieved an MA in Painting with merit at Arts University Plymouth in 2022 and I was a committee member of the Newlyn Society of Artists for 6 years, I graduated from Chelsea College of Art & Design in 2011, where I won the Ovalhouse prize. My work has been awarded the Gloucestershire University prize at the Open West. My paintings have been featured in the ING Discerning Eye, NOA exhibition, BEEP2018 and Wells Art Contemporary shows. Online I am represented by SaatchiArt, I have work in private collections in the UK and worldwide. My work has been exhibited in London, Berlin and Baku, Azerbaijan. I have been awarded three Arts Council grants and I have a studio also I live in Penzance, Kernow
